The UVF Prayer (1912)
In 1912, a member of the Orange Order, Bro Rt Rev John Crozier, was the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh and Prmate of All Ireland.
Like the vast majority of Protestant Clergymen at that time, he was a staunch supporter of the Ulster Volunteer Force.
Primate Crozier personally authored an official prayer to be said each day (morning and evening) by every member of the Ulster Volunteer Force. It was printed in Armagh City. Many copies made their way to France during World War 1 where they were used by the men of the 36th Ulster Division.
